So, I have noticed it has been well over a year since I wrote a blog post. Much of my energy is devoted to God, family, work, and school! I do plan on writing more regularly once I complete school and have more ownership of my time. For now, I am making sure my work portfolio and resume are staying up to date on the website here. In the meantime, if you have any questions or would like for me to share my knowledge and thoughts on just about anything tech related, just click on the contact link in the site header or leave a comment below.
How do I get my business name out there on all search engines without having to be extorted by Yelp? Google? Love to know! Thanks
Hey Valerie,
One of the best tools a person can use to boost their online presence is SEO, or Search Engine Optimization. I consider this to be both an art and a science. I say that it is a science in that you will need to look into which websites are appearing near the beginning of the keyword or keywords you are interested in using to have people find you.
Much has changed in recent years with search engines with the advent of monetizing search results. In other words, people who pay money to the likes of Google, Facebook, etc., will likely find their results placed higher on the list than websites who naturally grow their visitors and followers.
The more unique you can be as far as your key describing words are, the better your chances of being easily found in a search engine without the need of spending significant amounts of money to boost your search rankings.
